Welcome to the Truro and Penwith College Academies Guide. This will give you an idea of some of the activities we have on offer and what the Academies involve. The College is one of the newest and most innovative colleges in the country. For a large percentage of young people in Cornwall, Truro and Penwith College is their first choice. The College is able to offer purpose-built facilities with resources of an exceptionally high standard.
All students wanting to join an Academy will firstly be registered on a full-time programme of study. This might be a vocational course such as a Level 3 Extended Diploma or an A Level programme.
The flexibility of the Academy programme enables students to access as much as possible without interfering with their academic studies.
Many Academies are offered at both Truro College and Penwith College, giving students studying at both locations the opportunity to enhance their College experience. In some cases Academy activities are combined and may take place at either College site.
Please note that all Truro and Penwith College Academies are taken in conjunction with a full-time programme of study.
Application forms for full-time courses are available from schools or from the College. Please contact us for further details of the application process or ask at one of our many open events. Students may express an interest in joining an Academy on their full-time course application form or at their College interview.
