We have designed our website to be as straightforward as possible paying particular attention not to repeat content in multiple locations. We have included some information to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the experience.
This website is built and maintained using a progressive enhancement strategy. For web design that emphasises accessibility, semantic HTML markup and external stylesheet and scripting technologies.
Progressive enhancement uses web technologies in a layered fashion that allows everyone to access the basic content and functionality of a web page, using any browser or Internet connection, while also providing an enhanced version of the page to those with more advanced browser software or better bandwidth.
In practice this means that:
- Without CSS, the content of each page is still readable.
- With JavaScript off, some aspects of how the website behave somewhat differently then when it is on, but all aspects of the website will remain accessible.
- Most of the text on this website can be increased or decreased in size using built-in browser tools. However, we have also provided an accessibility add-on by RokTalk that serves this purpose and more.

Conformance to guidelines
This website has been built in line with the WCAG 2.0 and aims to achieve Priority 2 / Double A whenever possible. As the WCAG are guidelines, what is of equal importance to us is how real people use our website. As the internet is constantly evolving and the way that different browsers, technologies and devices may interpret and display our website, we have built this website to adhere to web standards and best practices, but not for specific user agents or devices. We also use common sense. Meeting the guidelines is an on going process and we are constantly striving to increase the usability for all our users.
