St Michael’s Hotel hosted over 100 students for the Hair, Beauty and Complementary Therapies awards evening. Certificates and special awards were presented in recognition of the students’ hard work over three levels of courses

Special awards were presented to individuals for their endeavours throughout the year including an award for The Most Improved Student; Natasha Hedge from Newquay whose award was for hard work and determination to change her out look on her learning. Natasha turned her life around from a very slow start to her studies programme but went on to finish one course and has now nearly completed her second.  The Award for Student Achievement this year was presented to Cerwyn Burnett from the Roseland for her total commitment to her studies despite personal challenges, which at times put constraints on her studies.  Not only did she achieve second place in a recent Cornish Skills competition she also completed her course before the deadline.

Cheryl Mewton, Director of Studies at the College commented: “It was a wonderful evening and congratulations to so many students for their achievements.  Hayley McKinstry and her team have worked extremely hard this year to maintain the high standard of work that we have at the college as well as the work involved in hosting Cornish Skills and Salon Cornwall this year.”
