Teona Jackson, a Public Services lecturer at Penwith College will be shortly heading for London as a volunteer for the Olympic Games. Teona has had to travel to London for 4 training days which included both role specific and venue specific training for her role as Wayfinder at the Olympic Park. Teona will be meeting and greeting guests coming to the Olympics to see the Handball games, a fast and furious sport of which Teona is a fan. She has been issued with a full uniform which encompasses everything from a cap to keep off the sun (and an umbrella to keep off the rain!) to Olympic socks and shoes. She will be staying in London throughout the Olympics and says, “this is the opportunity of a lifetime. I thought that it was amazing when my Dad was selected to carry the Olympic flame and now I will be there in the midst of the action. London will be buzzing with visitors and I will be based in the main arena. I am so excited.”
