A group of Truro College students have come together to create the first issue of a new magazine ‘Fringe’.
A level student and part of the editorial team, Liz Winter talked about the process “It is a good forum for us all to promote our skills – creative, writing, photography, fashion.
The title of ‘Fringe’ has lots of different connotations; being on the fringe and on the cutting edge of society. Everyone involved has their own agenda; women’s issues, political, technical, and the differences make it interesting. We have had to think in a new way – What can we do for the reader?
The editorial team are mostly first years and we produce the bulk of the content, writing articles with additional contributions from other students. The magazine is place where students can express themselves quite individually and we are hoping the magazine will l continue once we move on.”
The inaugural issue was available to students digitally and thanks to a contribution from the College, the next issue will also be available in printed form.
