Four groups of students were presented with certificates after successfully completing the Ten Tors Jubilee Challenge.

Designed for young people with special needs, the challenge involves a trek across Dartmoor on the same weekend as Ten Tors. 12 students from Truro College’s Foundation Studies department made up four teams who completed routes of 7½, 8½, 11 and 15 miles, accompanied by staff and college students from the Expedition Academy.

Three gold awards were presented to Matthew Talbot, Daniel Kemp and Edward Sinkins, recognising their third completion of the challenge.

For taking part a second time, silver awards went to James Holyer, Chris Youngs, Andrew Kerr, Liam Williams and Herb Suitor-Western.

Bronze awards were given to those who completed the challenge for the first time – Robyn Toner, Matthew Bayman, Ben Field, Donna Watling, Chris Broad, Ben Evis, James Robins and Beth Hawker.

Presenting them with their awards, College director Jane Cashmore, who joined the students on the challenge commented on the immense pride they should feel in their achievement and also that the college regards them with.
