Falmouth’s Events Square was filled with music as part of the Fal River Festival celebrations.
Truro and Penwith College students gave superb performances throughout the opening day with acts including a sax ensemble, jazz from the degree course, acoustic guitar performances and various bands as well a captivating selection of dance by diploma in Performance students.
Programme Team Leader for Performing Arts, Bill Walker, accompanied Zara Ritchie, Adele Gale and Megan Tuck who sang popular songs including Adele’s Someone like You to an intrigued audience. Bill commented “This was a great opportunity for our students to show off their talent. They were from various Performance courses at the College from Level 3 to degree level and from the Music Academy which hones student talent for jazz and classical music “
The six hours of non-stop performance was supported by staff and students from the Theatre Production Diploma. A technically demanding challenge expertly met by the lighting and sound engineers from the course.
Bill added “The College was delighted to demonstrate the range of opportunity available to students of performance skills in Cornwall and to be a part of such an important community event.”
