Mounts Bay Rotary Club were invited in to College to be interviewed by year 1 Health and Social Care students. The topic? The effects of ageing on self-esteem. 15 Rotarians came in and were ‘grilled’ by the students on how ageing has affected them physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. The students were overwhelmed by the honesty and wisdom of their guests and many myths and stereotypes were dispelled. Rebecca (17) said, “Today has made me really happy; I’ve learnt so much more about life by talking to the visitors”. Kate Barden, Course Leader in Health and Social Care, would like to thank the Rotary Club for their help and support with this project and is looking forward to further projects.
