Training your staff through the Apprenticeship programme will help increase productivity, improve skills, raise customer service levels, improve morale and boost profits.
Completing an Apprenticeship is a great way to gain practical work experience, develop your skills and knowledge, achieve nationally recognised qualifications and earn a real wage.
Apprenticeships are achieved through a blended learning approach, incorporating hands-on taught sessions (usually 1 day per week over 2 years), workplace learning and online self-directed study.
You will be working for a local business while attending weekly College sessions; supported by regular workplace visits, online learning and self-directed study.
This Apprenticeship is achieved by attending taught sessions, completing a work-based portfolio and completing timed and work-based assessments.
Progression through Truro and Penwith College
- After completing this Apprenticeship there are a number of potential progression options including Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.
Costs The majority of the training costs delivered by the College for Apprenticeships are funded. There is a required employer contribution towards this as follows:
- Apprentices aged 16 – 18 = Free
- Apprentices aged 19+ = £250.00 Employer Contribution or £500 for large employers
Employers must pay Apprentices a wage (minimum of £2.60 per hour). Apprenticeships at Truro and Penwith College are only available to businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
