workplace diversity

As a successful College, we understand the educational and business benefits of having a diverse community of staff and learners who value one another and contribute to the achievement of the College’s mission.

removing all barriers

We take positive action to remove any existing barriers to all staff, students, governors and visitors, irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, and harassment and bullying, apply to all aspects of staff and student activity within the College. We expect everyone to support and implement all of our equality policies and ensure that their behaviour and/or actions don't amount to discrimination or harassment in any way.

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, we have an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Monitoring report. This provides you with more information about the current equality objectives we are working towards.

The College has been re-accredited with the Investors in Diversity quality mark in 2021. This demonstrates the College’s commitment to an all-encompassing approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.

We are also a Disability Confident Employer, which includes being flexible when assessing and interviewing to enable candidates the best opportunity to demonstrate that they can do the job. We offer opportunities for work experience and trials to provide a more diverse working environment and create more accessible opportunities.

Truro and Penwith College’s pay approach supports the fair treatment, reward and recognition of all staff irrespective of sex, race, religion or belief, age, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability.

It has a clear policy of paying employees equally for the same or equivalent work, regardless of their sex (or any other characteristic set out above). For further information please see our Gender Pay Gap Report 2023.
