WHAT WILL I LEARN?

This qualification covers the key skills and knowledge needed to progress to further learning or work in the Construction industry. The units are designed to make sure students learn the underlying principles and practical skills needed in the sector and gain an overview of the principles of Construction, building technology and terminology. The course contains a variety of modules that will enthuse and challenge, these include:

WHERE WILL IT TAKE ME?

This BTEC Level 2 qualification will allow students to progress to a Level 3 T Level in Construction or employment in the industry, ultimately progressing into job roles that range from Construction specialists to technical services (surveying, site management, etc). It could also lead to an Apprenticeship of which there are a number of new and exciting programmes being developed. The industry is experiencing severe shortages of skilled staff and therefore offers good employment prospects.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students need to have achieved Grade 3 GCSE in English & Maths and must have a keen interest in construction with a good work ethic.

Students must be able to work alone and as part of a team while demonstrating commitment to the course.

INFORMATION & SUPPORT

The College will provide all of the tools and materials for the course, however students will be responsible for their own PPE and will be required to come equipped with a pair of steel toe capped boots and a pair of safety glasses.
