This course introduces you to the skills and knowledge with which to navigate the internet and discover your ancestors. It will cover the essential sources that are available online such as the censuses from 1841 to 1911 and key sources such as Births, Marriages and Death certificates.
In addition, we will make use of other internet available sources such as newspapers, various directories and other sources to build up a more detailed picture of our family ancestors. We will also address researching our ancestors who were involved in the World Wars. An essential part of the course will be practice tasks and kinship terminology, ordering certificates and an overview of family history.
