This course provides training on evidence-based falls prevention and management strategies to support and enable people working in nursing and care homes. Falls incidence in care homes is reported to be approximately three times that of the community.However, many are preventable and there are multiple tools and resources to help prevent falls.
Developed in collaboration with Kernow CCG, RCHT and Cornwall Council, this workshop aims to: reduce the likelihood and frequency of falls through effective risk assessment; minimise complications and safely manage unavoidable falls; develop skills and confidence to assess a falls situation and initiate the most appropriate response.
