The Level 3 qualification offers up to 54 UCAS points for those thinking of attending university in the future.

The course allows learners to acquire, practice, develop and apply the skills needed to be successful in higher education, training or employment.
Work Placement
When you join us, you’ll be given your own job coach – a member of our employability team dedicated to helping you learn, develop and gain employment. This course will include a substantial work placement and the opportunity to achieve additional UCAS points to support Higher Education applications.
What will I learn?
Students will study a variety of topics including enterprise, active citizenship, psychology, interpersonal skills, study skills and current affairs. In addition to the core subjects are a wide range of optional units and extracurricular activities that students will choose to opt into according to their interests and ambitions. This course will include a substantial work placement and the opportunity to achieve additional UCAS points to support Higher Education applications.
Learners will undertake a Level 3 ‘Certificate in Personal Effectiveness’ which attracts 16 UCAS points (equivalent to a B at AS Level) and have the opportunity to carry out an Extended Project which attracts 28 UCAS points for a project that is graded as A*. The Extended Project is available to help develop independent study and research skills
A key part of the course will be a work placement learning opportunity in an area of choice supported by a Job coach. Learners will work for a real business with a view of gaining practical experience that will not only enhance their CV but also help cement their career choice when leaving education.
Where will it take me?
You will be able to move into an Apprenticeship or employment at any point in the year or move into further learning the following academic year.
Entry Requirements
It is expected that you will have gained or enrolled on GCSE Maths and English or Functional Skills L2.
Information & Support
Working within the Student Services area, the Student Support team will see you on a one-to-one basis and offer advice and guidance on financial, personal, and emotional issues. A professional team of staff work together with your personal tutor to support you so that you can successfully complete your course and recognise pathways to progression after leaving College.
Additional Information
The course lasts one year although there are opportunities to start throughout the year. You will be able to move into an Apprenticeship or employment at any point in the year or move into further learning the following academic year.
