Business Workshop - Train the Trainer

This course is for anyone who trains others as part of their job role. It is an opportunity to refresh and update training skills, to help ensure that workplace learning activities are as effective as possible.

This is an interactive programme aimed at developing skills and confidence in planning and delivering effective work-based training with an emphasis on application of practical tools and techniques, underpinned by learning theory. It will develop understanding of how to deliver inclusive sessions to engage learners and develop reflective practice to inform continuous professional development.

Programme Content:

  • Characteristics of effective training
  • Identifying learning needs and preferences
  • Developing and using training aids
  • Planning training sessions for maximum impact
  • Developing effective communication skills
  • Developing constructive feedback techniques
  • Assessment and evaluation methods
  • Training practice opportunities

The course includes a blend of training techniques for the bedrock of the course with lots of opportunities to practice in a safe and supportive environment. On day 3 of the programme, participants will each deliver a micro-teach session (25 - 30 mins) with peer and tutor feedback, self-reflection and action planning for future development.
