Vocational Taster Options

What Will I Learn?

Your timetable will include vocational tasters, work skills, Maths, English, Tutorial and a wide array of enrichment activities. You will work towards improving your Maths and English to a level in which you can progress, and your BTEC qualification in Vocational Skills at Level 1 will give you the opportunity to acquire and develop generic, transferable, and sector-specific skills in order to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables you to progress to further learning. You will develop the skills needed to illustrate work readiness and the skills needed to successfully work alongside your peers in a vocational environment.

Where Will It Take Me?

Following successful completion of the programme of vocational tasters and preparation for employment skills, it could lead to the opportunity to progress into our cross-college provision or supported/independent employment.

Assessment Arrangements

All learners will complete a Baseline assessment which incorporates not only academic learning abilities but also the soft skills we want to develop with our students whilst they study with us. This assessment will be reviewed and work and support will then be adjusted accordingly in line with progress made.

The Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory qualification in Vocational Studies give learners the opportunity to acquire and develop generic, transferable and sector-specific skills to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables them to progress to further learning.
