This module will focus on establishing practical photography skills. Students will use a range of technologies and apply them to a range of situations both on location and in the photographic studio. What Will I Learn?

This is a level 4 course and at the end of the module, you will have written a proposal suggesting solutions to a set brief and planning and produced a range of photographic images in response to the brief, demonstrate analysis of outcomes, and reflect upon skills and techniques.
Assessment is 100% coursework.

During the course, you will:

  • Describe an appropriate response to a set brief using an imaginative and creative approach.
  • Produce a range of photographic images from both location and photographic studio scenarios.
  • Produce coherent investigative and reflective workbook supporting your practical work.

Where Will It Take Me?

This is a 20-credit module accredited by Plymouth University. Photographic Techniques is part of the FDA Film, Media & Photography degree programme, and could be used as one of three modules to create a 60 Credit Certificate of Professional Development (CPD) Award.
