This module introduces the learners to the principles and practices of graphic design as applied to still and moving image products. This will be achieved through illustration, colour theory, font style and expressive and imaginative manipulation of visual imagery. Learners will gain skills that develop their application of the line, layout, texture, space, structure, composition and motion graphics.

What Will I Learn?
This is a level 4 course and at the end of the module, you will have produced a portfolio of design products and write a proposal showing design plans/sketches and evaluate the process and production.
Assessment is 100% coursework.
During the course, you will:
- Produce and record designs ideas
- Produce a design solution to a problem
- Use the vocabulary of graphic design for online and print content
- Image manipulation and motion graphic
- Evaluate finished work
Where Will It Take Me?
This is a 20-credit module accredited by Plymouth University. Visual and Graphic Design Techniques is part of the FDA Film, Media & Photography degree programme, and could be used as one of three modules to create a 60 Credit Certificate of Professional Development (CPD) Award.
