Truro and Penwith College’s blend of modern, spacious facilities combined with a community atmosphere creates the perfect environment for study.
Before you go
If you’re planning to travel by car, parking for the event will be clearly signposted. Visitors are advised to arrive after 4:30pm. The College’s ANPR Parking System will be in operation and issuing fines to unregistered vehicles before this time. Any visitors arriving before 4:30pm must register their car with reception to avoid receiving a fine.
There are also bus stops and the Langarth Park and Ride on the main road outside of the campus. To view the latest and upcoming timetables please visit the First Website.
Make sure you visit one of our Information Hubs where you can pick up an event guide with a campus map and our friendly Student Ambassadors can point you in the right direction. After that, the campus is yours to explore!
Open evening talks and Sports Academy masterclasses
At Truro College Open Evening on 12th January 2023, there will be two Information Talks to help you explore a wide range of learning areas at the College.
At 6pm in the Terrace, Mylor building, you can find out about our Apprenticeships and quality careers with some of Cornwall’s top employers.
There will also be a talk at the University Centre Truro & Penwith, Fal building, at 7pm on how you can achieve University-Level qualifications right here in Cornwall.
You can also sign up to join one of our Sports Academy Masterclasses, run by specialist sport coaches. This is a great opportunity for students who are thinking of joining one of our Sports Academies in September.
These talks are free to attend, but we ask that you please register before attending. Sign up is essential for the Sports Academy Masterclasses as coaches will need final numbers to plan their sessions.
There is a lot to see and do at the Open Event so we recommend that you choose a selection of courses that you are interested in and head over to those locations for more details. Our friendly team of tutors and staff will be on-hand to help you with any queries you may have.
There will also be fantastic activities and experiences to take part in around the campus to give you an understanding of the ‘Outstanding’ facilities and opportunities that are available. Make sure you take full advantage of the workshops and informative talks throughout the day and have a wander around the campus; all buildings will be open.
If you’re already interested in joining our ‘Outstanding’ College, remember to visit one of our Application Stations where you can apply. Of course, you can always apply online at a later date if you need more time to go through your options.
Be sure to pick up as much information as you can. There will be a lot to take in during the event, so taking some information away with you will make your discussions at home a lot easier. Grab a prospectus before you leave and make notes on your event guide while you talk with members of staff.
