Wednesday 3rd November 2021
13:00 - 17:00 (with a FREE networking lunch provided at 12:30)
Truro College, Fal Building, Truro, TR1 3XX

This FREE Taster Session is aimed at those working or interested in the principles and practices of design and craft, or for individuals whose roles involve these key responsibilities.

This practical session will enable you to explore the tactile and colourful world of textile craft and offer the opportunity to create one-off art works, which explore layers of meaning, mixed media and stitched surfaces.

This FREE session will provide insights into Higher Level training opportunities and how developing these skills could benefit your career.

Our free tasters are standalone, non-accredited sessions that will allow you to find out what studying these subjects at a Higher Level would entail and where gaining these qualifications could take you. Completion of a taster could also result in financial support towards a qualification at Level 4 or above.

L4 Course: The tutor will introduce you to the content of the Level 4 SUCCESS module in Critical and Contextual Studies which will include a session at The Tate in St. Ives. You will develop your awareness of design theory and practice drawn from historical and contemporary contexts to understand their influence on art, design and craft production. These will be investigated and analysed through practical and hands-on approaches.
