Truro College art and design students are celebrating fourteen years of exhibiting on Lemon Quay and prove they will be the artists and designers of tomorrow by presenting their work within the City of Truro

Elevate - the collective name for the exhibition refers to lifting or raising, or to boost, linking directly to the objectives of art and design education, making everyone aware of the impressive levels of creative achievement

Our exhibition will promote the universal benefits of art and design by both full-time and part-time students. Every year, the exhibition intrigues and stimulates the imagination by elevating and promoting creativity within our City. Art and Design can elevate  all our lives as it provides beauty, escapism, useful design and the advancement of ideas and capabilities. Our team consists of students, lecturers, makers, artists, designers who all learn their craft and practice, valuing its importance and strive to develop their own creative directions as they take flight!

The outstanding displays of talent from both full-time and part-time students, further and higher education courses, representing the broad creative choice offered by Art and Design courses at Truro College: from Fashion to Graphic Design, Silversmithing & Jewellery to Fine Art, Ceramics to Product Design, Textiles to Printmaking and Life Drawing to Animation.

"The aim of Elevate is to celebrate and share the art and design work created at Truro College and to continue exhibiting the achievements of our students in an accessible arena in the City of Truro," comments Mark Dunford, Programme Team Leader for Art & Design.

Visitors of all ages will be uplifted by the quality of ideas, invention, diversity and making - giving our ideas a 'thermal lift'.

"Once again, the large white marquee will be hoisted to provide a highly visible temporary gallery, right in the heart of our community; giving everyone a unique insight and opportunity to enjoy the highly creative and individual work made by the college's students. This exhibition will fly the flag for diversity and innovation from all our courses."

Visitors will have the chance to see genuine dedication to art and design. It will prove that the creative experience is worth celebrating as our students embark upon new routes within national and international creative pathways.

Elevate is open to the public from 9 am to 6 pm on  Tuesday 21 - Friday 24 May and 9 am to 3 pm on  Saturday 25 May 2019. Admission is free and staff and students from Truro College will be on hand all week to answer questions about the work, or help those looking to find the right art & design course for them.
