Sisters Emma and Sarah Rippon started their business, Siskyn, after they experimented with oils to combat their own skin complaints. When friends and family became interested in their oils, they decided to develop the idea and start a business.
Their journey has been incredible so far and was topped off by winning three awards through the Beauty Shortlist in 2017. Siskyn was awarded Best Facial Oil for their Rose and Neroli Day Facial Oil; Best Night Treatment for their Lemon and Sea Buckthorn Brightening Night Oil and Best Oil Cleanser for their Camellia and Safflower Hot Cloth Cleansing Oil.
The awards have not stopped there for the sisters as they won a Special Recognition Award for their Frankincense and Jasmine Facial Oil from the Natural Health International Beauty Awards.
To add to their success, Siskyn have been featured in Vogue and had their products included in Birchbox, Minted box and the Nourish Beauty Box. These subscription boxes are delivered to industry experts who trial and review the products.
The sisters are committed to their corporate social responsibility and sustainability. They use glass and recycled cardboard for their packaging, soy based inks, they are registered with The Vegan Society and are committed to being 100% cruelty free. The suppliers they have chosen contribute to charity and even their domain is through a 100% carbon neutral website provider.
Emma and Sarah joined the Spark Programme in August 2016 which has helped them to build their confidence when talking about their business. Business mentors have given them robust advice to take their business forward.
The dream for Siskyn is to build a huge global skincare and wellness empire! However, for now, they are working on moving into the retail sector, developing more products and working out how to use Twitter!
