Foundation Studies students turn plastic waste into a new wardrobe

Foundation Studies students from Truro College have been continuing the fight against by plastic in a new Recycle Reuse course where they turn rubbish into finery.

Proving that one person’s plastic waste is another person’s ball gown, the students get together every week to find ways that they can recycle and reuse the plastic and cardboard waste they have been collecting since the start of the year.

The creativity of the students has been endless as the group have made anything from accessories to clothes, including an impressive array of embellishments for their final designs.

Charlotte Edwards, one of the Foundation Studies lecturers who has been working with the students, was thrilled with what they have achieved, saying: “The students have had full creative control over the course and have designed things from ball gowns to movie costumes and armour. It’s been awesome!”
