Fundraising is the aim of the game

Foundation Studies students at Truro College have spread joy this Christmas by raising money for the Little Harbour Children’s Hospice South West through a gaming event at the College.

Organised by the students themselves, the event gave students the chance to unwind and have some fun in the name of charity as they challenged one another in various video games, with Sonic Racing emerging as the favourite.

With games £1 a go and delicious array of coffee and cakes for refreshments, the event raised over £130 for the charity.

The students were really pleased with how the fundraising event went, commenting on how busy it was and great it felt doing something nice for the charity. In fact, the gaming event was such a success the students can’t wait for their next fundraising opportunity.

Marie Tullett, Foundation Studies lecturer at the College, was so impressed by the students’ hard work, saying: “I am so very proud of our students and what they have achieved. They planned and organised the whole event, which was a roaring success! They impressed me with their positive attitude, remaining motivated throughout. It was an absolute pleasure to witness the incredible team work and how they all grew in confidence."
