IB Diploma flying high once again at Truro College

Staff and students on the IB Diploma at Truro College are celebrating being the joint-top non-selective state provider of the IB nationally, and the joint-second best state provider of the IB overall, in The Times Parent Power List.

Truro’s average IB Diploma score of 38.4 this year is equivalent to three A*s and two As at A Level, and we had a full-marks top scorer with 45, and four with 44, making them some of the best students in the world.

Angie Liversedge, the IB Coordinator at the College, said: “I am so delighted that we have once again topped the Times’ Parent Power League Tables, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and the talent, commitment, and sheer enthusiasm of our IB students.

“The Diploma helps to enable students’ progression to some of the most prestigious universities in the world and achieve their ambitions for the future. We look forward to showcasing the many positive aspects of studying the IB Diploma at Truro College when we welcome prospective students and their parents to our IB Information Evening in January.”

The International Baccalaureate is an alternative to A Levels where students study six subject options. It can be a great choice for anyone wanting to keep their options open and is a good route for talented students to go to the very best universities.

Truro College is the only provider of the IB Diploma in Cornwall and the course has been rated as top non-selective state provider of the IB for the previous three years.

For anyone considering their options post-GCSE, the IB Info Evening on Thurs 13th Jan at 7pm in the Fal Building at Truro College is a chance to meet the staff and students and find out more about this exciting course.
