Q&A

Lauren Care, Level 2 Hair Apprentice

Q. What is your role at Inspiration Professional?
A. “I'm a level 2 qualified hairdresser and am now an Apprentice studying my Level 3.”

Q. What is your favourite product in the salon and why?
A. “All the products are amazing in their own way so it’s hard to pick but using hairspray and shine spray can completely change and finish the look.”

Q. What does an Apprenticeship at Inspiration offer?
A. “It offers you experience while earning money. Everywhere you go for a job they want experience and this will look great on my CV.”

Q. Why did you choose to study a Hair Apprenticeship?
A. “So I could gain lots of experience and confidence in myself while also earning money.”

Q. Have you always wanted to work as a hairdresser?
A. “Before I started hairdressing I was studying beauty therapy and achieved my Level 3 qualification. However, I lost my love for it and took that as an opportunity to study something I've not always had an interest in, but since starting it I've realised I want a career in hairdressing.”

Q. What hair treatment brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
A. “I've always wanted to try Redken hair products and now doing my Apprenticeship I get the chance to as we use and sell those products in the salon.”

Q. What does an average day at work look like for you?
A. “Every day is different even if you do foils every day it’s always different because everyone's hair is unique.”

Ellie Angwin, Level 2 Hair Apprentice

A. “I am qualified in Level 2 hairdressing and I am currently doing my Level 3 as an Apprentice. I learn my course one day a week and work in the Professional Salon four days a week.”

Q. What is your favourite product in the salon and why?
A. “My favourite product is definitely the Redken diamond oil high shine airy mist. This leaves the client’s hair soft and shiny until the next wash.”

Q. What does an Apprenticeship at Inspiration offer?
A. “One of the best things about the Apprenticeship is earning money alongside learning my course.”

Q. Why did you choose to study a Hair Apprenticeship?
A. “I studied beauty therapy in my first two years of college and wanted to do hairdressing to gain qualifications but I ended up really enjoying it!”

Q. Have you always wanted to work as a hairdresser?
A. “Not always, I initially started hairdressing to gain some qualifications although I ended up loving the course! Now it is all I want to do.”

Q. Which hair treatment brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
A. “I have always liked the brand Redken, luckily doing the Apprenticeship these are the products I am currently using and I love them.”

Q. What does an average day at work look like for you?
A. “Days at the salon are very busy! I try to fit in as many clients as possible to keep us busy. Also in-between clients I am doing reception work and sorting out things in the laundry room such as drying and washing towels for us and the other students.”
