With hundreds of courses starting this Autumn, it features a wide range of options, from jewellery-making to accountancy qualifications, from beekeeping to learning a foreign language. Courses vary in length from half-day classes to longer diplomas and are hosted in a range of locations across Cornwall, taught by teams of dedicated staff.
Whether you’re looking to pursue an interest, develop a new hobby, make new friends, or get that new skill or qualification that could unlock the next stage of your professional life, Part-time Courses at Truro and Penwith College can be a great way to get there. The brochure also features a range of courses from the Penzance School of Art, which is now part of Truro and Penwith College.
Karen Partridge studied Woodcarving & Woodsculpturing at Truro College on Monday evenings and won a prize in an art show for her work. She said: “It is so enjoyable because although it gives expert tuition and at the same time you are able to follow your own interests. I enjoy the camaraderie of the other members. During lockdown I missed that impetus considerably, so I can’t wait to get back! It’s a great course, inspiring and refreshingly well taught.”
Magen Martin studied the Make-Up Artistry Level 3 Diploma and said: ““I can’t express enough how fantastic the Level 3 Make-up Artistry course was! So much so I wish it didn’t end. The content was brilliant, and it gave me the confidence to pursue my chosen career. The tutor was a wonderful support to me.”
The College offers funding options, too, from the 19+ Advanced Learner Loan, to fees for some courses being waived depending on circumstances, through the College’s European Social Fund (ESF) projects.
