Students and staff go pink for charity

In aid of breast cancer research, students and staff at Truro College dedicated a day to everything pink.

From beautiful and delicious pink cupcakes in the College’s training restaurant Spires to Hair and Beauty students offering some glam in the form of painted nails and stunning hair styles, the College was full of fundraising opportunities.

The Student Services team were particularly eager to raise money for the cause, offering the classic ‘guess the weight of the cake’ game with a twist, with a cake generously homemade and decorated by a member of staff at the College. But it didn’t stop there as Steve Phillips, the Safeguarding Officer at the College, decided to embrace the pink by having his hair and eyebrows dyed pink.

Throughout the day an incredible £400 was raised for the charity. One member of staff was particularly pleased with the day’s fundraising efforts as they know just how important things like this can be, saying: “The support I’ve received from the mermaid centre, headlands and the sunrise at Treliske has been amazing. We need these places in Cornwall.”
