Tiny tots raise money for Comic Relief in dance-a-thon

Children from Truro College Day Nursery recently put their dancing shoes on and smartest red and spotty attire in order to take part in a sponsored dance at Truro College to raise money for Comic Relief.

The children, who ranged from 10 months to four years old, began the sponsored dance by warming up their vocal chords, taking it in turns to share their favourite song for everyone to sing along to.

After they were all warmed up, the CD went on and the dancing shoes came out. Classics such as Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes kept the children laughing and giggling as they carried out the sponsored dance and the Nursery staff couldn't help but join in.

The sponsored dance wasn't the only money-raising thing that happened that day. Cakes were decorated with red icing and noses were painted red to celebrate the day, which raised a total of £345.30.

The children did really well, dancing for 45 minutes. The children collected sponsors all week and everyone did a great job.

Megan Ashe, Senior Early Years Practitioner at the Nursery

Megan was thrilled with the children's generosity, adding: "All the children from Truro College Day Nursery took part in a sponsored dance to help raise money for Comic Relief. We wore red or spotty clothes as this year's theme was Mr Tumble and his party bus."
