The Access to HE: Medicine has been recognised by the Medical Schools Council as a pathway to undergraduate medicine.

Back to Access to Higher Education

The Access to HE: Medicine is for students 19 years or older who require a level 3 qualification to study undergraduate medicine or a related degree. We expect some applicants to have been successful within another field, they may already hold a degree in another area or may be working as health service professionals e.g. nurses and paramedics. Applicants must be familiar with and have experience of the National Health Service (NHS). Relevant work experience is essential to support an application to medical school.

Where will it take me?

The Access to HE: Medicine has been recognised by the Medical Schools Council as a pathway to undergraduate medicine. However, each medical school will consider the suitability of the Access course, and may have differing entry requirements and additional stipulations. We recommend applicants contact medical schools directly to ascertain the entry requirements. We are in consultation with the University of Exeter Medical School who share our passion and enthusiasm for the programme.
