Equipping you with the tools to become an independent video game developer, the course will also ensure that skills are transferable to working in larger games studios. Games design and development teaches both 2D and 3D, drawing from current developments in digital culture. Construction of larger, bolder projects, such as multi-platform production will then be taught, allowing you to defines the voice and direction you wish to push towards a career in the games and creative digital industries. Digital techniques such as simple coding and the use of animation will also be explored, as well as gaining a contextual understanding of the role of computer games in contemporary culture. 

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to demonstrate practical design skills to adhere to live client briefs. You will also have experience analysing and evaluating recent developments in computer games, reflecting the contextual understanding of media production.
