The programme is delivered by both legal academics and qualified lawyers, leading to a focus on both academic and professional development. Additionally, there is some inter-disciplinary delivery which provides a broader contextual understanding of the subject.

You will develop a key understanding of the English legal system, as well as focusing on a number of substantive topics such as criminal law, contract law and the law of torts. The underpinning topic of law acts as the ‘major’ part of the course, with the ‘minor’ pathway of criminology and criminal justice. Providing broader opportunities for students after completion. The Research Project allows you to study your chosen area in more depth, with previous topics including revenge porn and the influence of the media on trial and sentence.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of a range of concepts, values, principles and rules of the English legal system, while understanding the ways in which law operates in the context of society and social values.
