The Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications aim to give you the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge that are used within the childcare sector. 

The Level 2 Technical Diploma aims to give you an understanding of the role of an early years educator. You will plan for a curriculum that is aimed at ensuring high-quality education for children aged from birth up to five years.

On the Level 3 qualification you will plan for a curriculum that is aimed at children from birth to seven years and eleven months. If you are looking to work with children and their families and enjoy working in a challenging but highly rewarding environment then this course is for you.

As an early years educator you will have the necessary skills to observe, plan and assess children's individual care and learning needs. You will develop those skills within College and in a practical work placement setting.

Students who have completed the Level 3 qualification have undertaken degrees in BA Early Childhood Studies, BA in Education, BEd in Early Years or Primary Education, BA in Social Work and Child and Family Welfare Studies. Truro and Penwith College also provides Foundation Degrees in Children and Young People's Workforce, Childhood Education, Youth and Community Studies and Psychology. Students have also gone onto successful careers direct from the course including teaching assistants in primary and specialist schools, play work, early years educators in pre-school and day care settings as well as nannies.
