WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You will be studying in our well-equipped and cutting-edge technology building being trained on modern, manual machines and equipment.

Units that you will study include:

  • Working in an Engineering Environment – This unit will encourage you to find out about working in engineering. It will cover the underpinning basic skills and knowledge needed to function in engineering or manufacturing sectors. It also covers the need to recognise and use safe working practices, consideration for environmental impact and working effectively as part of a team. It includes the methods of communication that engineers use in their everyday work.

WHERE WILL IT TAKE ME?

The vast majority of learners on this route progress into employment and Apprenticeships. This ranges from companies involved in the Marine, Manufacturing, Maintenance or Welding and Fabrication sectors. Some students choose to diversify into motor vehicle maintenance or design. Experienced engineers have high levels of job satisfaction as well as good levels of pay.

To access this course, you must achieve Grade 3 in English, Maths and Science at GCSE level.
