Accelerate programme

Accelerate is our bespoke STEM programme of study for academically minded A Level students.

What is the accelerate programme?

Accelerate is our specialist pathway for ambitious STEM students, designed to strengthen applications for top university courses and competitive industry placements.

The programme gives you:

  • Support for independent research projects (including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ))

  • Opportunities to join international STEM competitions

  • Work placements in relevant industries

  • Access to talks and workshops from visiting experts

Accelerate isn’t just about grades — it’s about building the confidence, skills and experiences that set you apart. Alongside academic study, we encourage leadership, teamwork and wellbeing, helping you step into the world ready to make a difference.

Where timetabling allows, Accelerate students are taught together in their A Level STEM subjects. In addition to your 3 or 4 A Levels, you’ll join at least one STEM-based Academy to extend your learning, and you’ll be encouraged to complete an EPQ or STEM project/competition.

Oxbridge Support

The Oxbridge Support Programme is a supplementary support programme which works alongside Accelerate. If you’re aiming for Oxford or Cambridge, our dedicated Oxbridge Support Programme sits alongside Accelerate to give you an extra edge.

You’ll receive:

  • Super-curricular and enrichment opportunities tailored to your interests

  • One-to-one support with your Oxbridge personal statement

  • Mock interviews with experienced staff and alumni

  • Visits to open days and preparation events

Our goal is simple: to give you every possible advantage in securing a place at the UK’s most competitive universities.

UK CanSat Competition

Students are preparing to take part in the UK CanSat Competition, applying their knowledge and skills to design and build a functioning mini satellite.

In this video, we speak with the team to learn more about their progress, the challenges they have encountered, and the opportunities the Accelerate programme provides in developing practical experience in STEM and engineering.

I like being in classes with people who are all achieving high and being pushed more by the lectures. I also like how we get notified about all the opportunities available to us and are encouraged to participate in all we can to make our applications for university even better.
