Sustainability policy

The Sustainability Policy is developed in response to global environmental issues and the need for urgent action to tackle climate change and improve our role as a sustainable College. It aims to set out how the College will put environmental issues at the forefront of our teaching, learning and operations.

Carbon Literacy Educator Bronze

Truro and Penwith College is proud to have achieved Carbon Literacy Educator (CLE) Bronze accreditation, awarded by The Carbon Literacy Project in recognition of our strong commitment to climate education and meaningful carbon reduction. This status demonstrates that the College has developed substantial understanding of Carbon Literacy® across our organisation, with a growing number of Carbon Literate staff and learners actively shaping a low‑carbon culture.

As a Bronze‑level Educator, we are embedding climate knowledge into our teaching, empowering our community to take informed action, and using our influence to drive positive change locally and beyond. This accreditation marks an important step in our journey toward deeper sustainability, aligning the College with a global community of education providers leading the transition to a more climate‑responsible future.

An award and certificate is presented to Simon Evans. He shakes hands with the person handing over the award.
