University Centre Careers and Employability Support

The University Centre has a specialist University level careers and employability advisor, who is available to meet with students throughout their course. During the year, there are careers and employability sessions built into your tutorial programme and we hold events, such as our recent careers fair, which 60 employers from Cornwall and the region attended to provide advice about employment after graduation. We recognise that our graduates may need help with career planning, application support and interview practice after graduation and we offer unlimited support for three years post graduation.

Your future career begins on the first day of your new course.

Make an appointment with our University Centre careers advisor to research and explore your career ideas and consider your strengths, skills, priorities and barriers.

We will support you to work on your employability and career management skills, allowing you to make the most of work placement opportunities and start making positive links in your chosen sector.

Support and guidance are available for every stage of the recruitment process and this is extended for three years post graduation. Please get in touch at hecareers@truro-penwith.ac.uk.

Career Connect

Welcome to our University Centre Career Connect platform.

The University Centre has a dedicated Careers platform with a constantly updating graduate job board feed. The site also offers tutorials to build your employability skills and support you with developing your CV and LinkedIn profile, as well as a very extensive ‘Career Discovery’ Library. Utilise the latest AI tools to explore your ideas, improve your CV and practise your interview skills. You can then bring your results straight to a careers appointment, as support in exploring your ideas is unlimited across your period of study.

Alumni, please register here once your college account has expired to access our jobsboard, career research and learning materials. You can also book a post graduate careers appointment.
