WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?
The T Level in Accounting is designed for learners aspiring to begin a career in roles such as assistant accountant, purchase ledger clerk, payroll officer, or accounts clerk. This programme offers the opportunity to gain substantial industry experience alongside a nationally recognised qualification, preparing you for progression into employment, higher apprenticeships, or further study at university.
WHAT YOU WILL STUDY
Throughout the course, you will develop a strong foundation in core accounting principles. This includes the application of double-entry bookkeeping, and the ability to prepare and interpret key financial statements such as the income statement and statement of financial position. You will also explore cash flow management, payroll processes, budgeting techniques, and the operational aims and structures of different types of businesses.
The curriculum extends to broader commercial and economic themes, including globalisation, the interdependence of international markets, and the role of professional standards, ethics, and regulatory frameworks within the accounting profession.
Learners will also examine the risks associated with electronic data storage, including vulnerabilities to cyber-attacks, and will evaluate strategies businesses use to mitigate these risks. Alongside technical knowledge, you will develop transferable skills in research, project management, and collaborative working, all of which are essential for modern finance environments.
Assessment for this T Level comprises two written examinations and an employer-set project, enabling you to demonstrate both theoretical understanding and practical competence.
