Beginners Watercolour Painting

An introduction to watercolour painting with the intention of building confidence, developing skills and finding a personal style. Suitable for students who have no prior experience in the medium. This structured evening course will focus on paint application, colour mixing and brush technique and will be delivered through a mixture of demonstrations and individual tuition.

Minnie McNaughton is a practicing artist and experienced educator with a BA Honours in Fine Art and a PGCE.

Students will be required to bring some materials to class:

• Watercolour paints to include: Prussian Blue, Light Red, Ultramarine, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Gamboge, Titanium White, Sap Green and Viridian
• No 8 round watercolour brush
• Masking fluid
• Permanent white gouache
• Masking tape
• 2 plastic water containers
• Good size watercolour paper pad 140 lbs cold pressed
