Data Usage and Privacy Policy
At Truro & Penwith College, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. As part of our data management practices, we utilise Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to collect and analyse data. This enables us to improve our services and enhance your experience.
The data we hold may have been collected when:
- You made an inquiry about a course.
- You subscribed to one or more of our newsletters or mailshots.
- You utilised our facilities, such as salons and restaurants.
Additionally, data is shared when you inquire, apply, or enroll for one of our courses. To learn more about how we handle your data in these cases, the College has implemented a comprehensive Data Protection Policy and Privacy Policy.

Our Data Team
We hold your data safely and securely. All our employees are DBS checked and have received additional safeguarding training.
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is Cat Hale. All sites also have Data Processors with specific areas of responsibility.
Data Protection Policies
Subscription information that you give us will be held for a maximum of three years, at the end of which we will contact you regarding renewal. Any other data retention is covered in our Data Archive Storage & Disposal Policy.

Oncourse is our monthly college email newsletter, helping you to keep up to date with application deadlines, dates for your diary, new courses and College news.
How to make a Data Subject Access Request?
Please email dataprotection@truro-penwith.ac.uk and complete a form and send from your student email or personal email which is registered with the college.
The college will respond within 20 working days of receiving the form to your request. Please indicate in your request the information you require. Please remember this is data held about the data subject only and not any third party. If you are acting on behalf of the third party, please ensure you attach the relevant permissions from your client. Parents of students will also need to ensure they have the necessary permission from their young person, if acting on their behalf. In the UK, young people over the age of 13 can give their own consent to the processing of their personal data and have the right to control and be informed about how their personal data is used or processed. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your rights under the Data Protection Act 1998.
How to make a Freedom of Information Request?
Please email dataprotection@truro-penwith.ac.uk and complete a form.
The college will respond within 20 working days of receiving the form to your request. All Freedom of Information requests must be made in writing, please fill in the form as fully as possible so that we can deal with your request efficiently.
