Attending an Open Event is a great opportunity to explore the facilities, learn more about the different types of courses on offer and speak to our teaching staff. We are here to answer any questions that you might have and help you to make an application.

Thinking About Your Next Steps After School or College?

Join us for our Open Event at the STEM & Health Skills Centre, part of Truro & Penwith College, and explore a wide range of exciting pathways into engineering, health, nursing, digital and technical careers.

This is your opportunity to see the facilities first-hand, meet our tutors, talk to current students, and discover where our courses can lead from further study to apprenticeships and employment.

Why Attend Our Open Event?

  • Tour our industry-standard workshops and health simulation spaces
  • Meet experienced tutors and ask questions in a relaxed, informal setting
  • Hear directly from current students about their learning experience
  • Explore clear career pathways, including T Levels, apprenticeships and progression to university
  • Get honest, practical advice on entry requirements, support available, and next steps

Whether you’re a Year 10 or 11 student, a parent or carer, or someone looking to retrain or upskill, this event is designed to help you make confident, informed decisions about the future.

Courses & Career Areas You Can Explore

During the event, you’ll be able to learn more about opportunities in:

  • Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Health & Nursing pathways
  • Progression routes into apprenticeships, employment or higher education

Our team will be on hand throughout the event to explain where these courses can lead, including both local and national career opportunities.

What to Expect at the Event

  • A warm welcome from the team
  • Guided tours of the facilities
  • Subject-specific conversations with tutors
  • Time to ask questions about applications, support, and student life

There’s no pressure and no formal presentations — just friendly conversations and the chance to explore at your own pace.

Bringing Someone With You?

Parents, carers, friends and supporters are very welcome. Choosing the right next step is an important decision, and we know it’s often helpful to explore options together.
