Truro and Penwith College has been solidified as a leading apprenticeship provider in the southwest after being nominated for four Apprenticeship Guide awards.
The nominations span across the College’s Further Education (FE) and Higher Education provision, and include Best Apprenticeship in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism for the College’s Level 4 Hospitality Manager Apprenticeship, Best Apprenticeship in Engineering for the College’s Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Tech Apprenticeship, Best Apprenticeship in Healthcare & Science for the College’s Level 6 Registered Nurse Apprenticeship, and the prestigious Best College for Apprenticeships.
The awards ceremony, taking place on 30th April 2026, will see colleges and HE providers from across the country come together in Leeds to celebrate exceptional apprenticeship achievement.
The nominations demonstrate the huge rate of achievement in Truro and Penwith College’s Apprenticeship department, as Truro and Penwith College is one of only five national Expert Apprenticeship Providers, won Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2025 at the national Apprenticeship & Training Awards and has been awarded Ofsted Outstanding for Apprenticeships. Truro and Penwith College’s apprentices are also the third highest achieving learners in England, according to the latest available data from the Department for Education.
Director of Partnerships and Apprenticeships Hayley McKinstry commented: “I am thrilled that the College has been nominated for four Apprenticeship Guide Awards across our FE and HE provision, including the prestigious Best College for Apprenticeships. I am extremely proud of our team and our apprentices who achieve fantastic outcomes every year.
“The combination of our incredible facilities, expert staff and strong links with employers across the southwest has created an exceptional environment for our apprentices, who are among the highest achieving learners at General Further Education Colleges in England. We are excited to attend the award ceremony on 30th April and celebrate the achievements of our students and staff.”
