Chloe’s Story

Chloe, a Truro College Student Ambassador and Musical Theatre student, [what she's doing and where]

“I get to help students who have had similar experiences to me with their GCSEs, help them find the support and talk about the endless opportunities there are. “

Course(s) studied: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice

Chloe joined Truro College from Treviglas Academy. Looking back, she says College helped her to grow. “College helped me with my confidence and coming out of my shell,” she says. “It can be scary, but it was so much fun.”

She became a Student Ambassador to help and support new and returning students as they find their feet. “I decided to become a Student Ambassador to be able to help and support new and returning students navigate college life,” she explains. She has come back every year since, and it’s easy to see why. “Not only do I enjoy it, I also get to help students who have had similar experiences to me with their GCSEs, help them find the support and talk about the endless opportunities there are.”

Chloe is now in her final year of university, studying Musical Theatre at LMA (www.lma.ac.uk). Alongside her studies, she has taught musical theatre in primary schools and worked as a cleaner and usher at her local theatre. For the past two summers, she has also performed in a cabaret with fellow creatives, which has led to performances at Liverpool Pride and other festivals. “I’ve had some amazing opportunities,” she says.

Next, she plans to audition and carry on training, while starting a teaching degree alongside. “I want to support young aspiring performers to get to their dream, whilst continuing mine.”

For students starting at College, Chloe’s advice is to be yourself. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions; no question is a silly one. Anything is possible and achievable.”

And for those heading to university, she says it’s a big step that can feel overwhelming at first. “But the friends and relationships you make will last a lifetime.”
