Are you highly organised, compassionate, and passionate about supporting young people? Looking for a role where you can combine admin expertise with meaningful, face-to-face student support?

We’re looking for a Bursary Administrator & Personal Support Advisor to join our Student Services team. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in both financial support administration and frontline student wellbeing.

About the role

This is a varied and impactful position where no two days are the same. You’ll combine accurate, detail-focused administrative work with direct support for students’ personal, financial, and wellbeing needs.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Processing bursary applications and managing student financial support
  • Maintaining and updating systems such as online financial support portals
  • Liaising with finance to ensure timely payments
  • Acting as a key point of contact for students on a drop-in and appointment basis
  • Providing guidance, information, and signposting to appropriate services
  • Supporting students across a wide range of issues including financial, personal, and safeguarding concerns
  • Working with internal teams and external agencies to ensure joined-up support
  • Supporting events, tutorials, and wider Student Services activity
  • Contributing to audits, process improvements, and staff training
  • Advising on policy updates and maintaining accurate administrative systems

About you

You’ll be someone who combines strong administrative skills with empathy, professionalism, and resilience.

You will have:

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong IT skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A compassionate, calm, and student-focused approach
  • Confidence working with young people and handling sensitive situations

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience in a student-facing or support role
  • Knowledge of bursary or financial support processes
