Are you passionate about English and committed to helping learners develop essential literacy skills for life, study, and work? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Variable Hours Lecturer in English at our Truro campus.

This is an exciting opportunity to support Level 2 learners to build confidence in reading, writing, and communication, enabling them to progress successfully in their studies and future careers.

 

About the role

As a Lecturer in English, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible English sessions to Level 2 learners
  • Support students to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Provide timely feedback, assessment, and guidance to support student progress
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learner needs and abilities
  • Contribute to students’ personal development and readiness for progression

 

About you

You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for education and student success.

  • Have a strong subject knowledge in English
  • Be committed to supporting learners to achieve their potential
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be organised, adaptable, and able to engage a wide range of learners
  • Ideally hold (or be willing to work towards) a teaching qualification
  • Hold an undergraduate degree in English or a closely related subject
