WHERE WILL IT TAKE ME?
This course is designed for students who want to progress into a career in digital data analytics or a related area of the digital industry.
On successful completion, you could progress into employment in roles such as:
- Data Analytics Technician
- Junior Data Analyst
- Market Research Data Analyst
- Data Technician
The qualification can also support progression to a relevant higher-level apprenticeship, including pathways towards becoming a Data Analyst, or further study at university or college.
Assessment takes place throughout the two-year course and includes external examinations, employer-set projects and a practical occupational specialism assessment.
Core Component – In the first year and across the core programme, you will develop the underpinning knowledge and understanding required for the digital industry. Assessment includes two externally assessed written examinations and an Employer Set Project, which tests your ability to apply your knowledge and skills to a realistic work-related scenario.
Occupational Specialist Component – You will complete an externally set practical project that assesses your ability to carry out data analytics tasks. This will require you to demonstrate your ability to prepare and combine data, analyse information, interpret results and communicate findings appropriately.
Assessment methods are designed to test both your theoretical understanding and your ability to apply your learning to practical situations. Your overall T Level grade will reflect your performance across the core and occupational specialism components.
You must attend an interview where your experience and/or performance and attitude will be considered. You will need to demonstrate your commitment to your two-year programme of study and have a passion to work in the digital sector.
Students are most likely to succeed if they have four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English.
GCSE IT/Computer Science is not required, as not all schools offer substantial IT or Computer Science programmes at KS4. A student’s personal interest and experience are more important than holding prior IT or Computer Science qualifications.
