Former Mounts Bay Academy student Archie and former Humphry Davy School student Cora are celebrating their A Level results after two memorable years at Penwith Campus, where supportive lecturers, strong friendships and a close-knit learning environment helped shape their College experience.

Archie achieved BBC in Geography, Business and Economics, while Cora achieved BBB in Psychology, English Literature and Geography.

Interviewed together on Results Day, it was clear that the pair had enjoyed sharing their College journey, with their answers bouncing off one another as they reflected on the experiences that made their time at Penwith Campus so rewarding.

For both students, the support and encouragement of their lecturers stood out as the highlight of their time at College.

“Teachers, I quite liked my lecturers, they were really good. I had a good time.” ~ Archie

“I think the teachers, because I got along with them so much, I’ll miss them.” ~ Cora

Cora explained that moving from a larger secondary school to College made it easier to build strong relationships with staff, thanks to smaller class sizes and a more personal learning environment. “You have more, closer relationships with the teachers because there are smaller classes.”

Archie also found the move to College an easy transition, helped by the fact that several of his friends from secondary school joined Penwith Campus too. “I’d say quite a few of my friends came with me from secondary school.”

Their experiences highlight one of the defining features of Penwith Campus: a welcoming, community-focused environment where students can maintain existing friendships while forming new connections with like-minded people.

As they collected their results, Archie and Cora were preparing for very different next steps.

Cora is heading to the University of Winchester to study Psychology, a subject she has thoroughly enjoyed and is excited to continue exploring at degree level. Meanwhile, Archie is pursuing an apprenticeship route, looking forward to gaining valuable workplace experience as he begins the next stage of his career.

Despite taking different paths, the two shared the same advice for future students.

“Turn up to your lectures.” ~ Archie

“Turn up and revise.” ~ Cora

Their success reflects the value of making the most of every opportunity, building strong relationships and staying committed throughout the College experience.

Everyone at Truro and Penwith College congratulates Archie and Cora on their achievements and wishes them every success in the exciting journeys ahead.
