Emily Myatt

Associate Director of the University Centre Truro & Penwith

Emily is the Associate Director of the University Centre Truro & Penwith and is responsible for leading the HE team, course developments and enhancing recruitment, retention and achievement of HE students.

Joining Truro College in 2013 as a lecturer in Biology and module leader for FdSc Biomedical Science, Emily gained valuable experience in both Further Education and Higher Education teaching. Her commitment to education led her to complete a post-16 PGCE, providing insight into the student experience at the University Centre. Emily’s role expanded over the years as she became Programme Leader for FdSc, developed HNC/D Applied Biology courses, and assumed the role of Deputy Team Leader for science in 2017. In 2023, she was appointed as the Head of University Centre and is looking forward to shaping the future of Higher Education at Truro and Penwith.

Terrina Dursley

Deputy Dean of the University Centre

Terrina Dursley is one of the Deputy Deans for the University Centre focussing specifically on the student experience. Terrina works alongside the student representatives to ensure that all students can access and benefit from the facilities and opportunities that the University Centre offers, as well as introducing new ideas from the student body too!

Having completed her Foundation Degree in Law at Truro College, she then went on to achieve the BSc Law with Business at Plymouth University. Returning to Truro College to complete her postgraduate teaching qualification in 2009 and achieving QTLS the following year, Terrina then taught Law for 7 years in Hampshire before joining Truro College in 2016. Alongside teaching, Terrina trained as an examiner for both Law and Criminology with external exam boards and completed the CIPD qualification in Human Resource Management.

Jolene Hogan

Deputy Dean of the University Centre and Access to Higher Education Coordinator

Kirsty Sincock

Deputy Dean of the University Centre

Kirsty is one of the Deputy Deans for the University Centre Truro & Penwith and is responsible for carrying out data analysis on datasets from a variety of sources to help the management team make data-driven decisions which will benefit our HE students. She is also responsible for monitoring the data which feeds into regulatory compliance.

Having studied at Truro College for her A-levels, Kirsty completed her degree at the University of Exeter before completing her PGCE with Cornwall SCITT, based at Truro College. She taught in local secondary schools for 3 years before joining Truro and Penwith College in 2016 as a lecturer in A-level Biology as well as delivering the Mathematics and Medical Physics components on the Extended Diploma in Applied Science.

Lindy Orchard

University Centre Student Ambassador Coordinator

Lindy has a unique insight into life at University Centre as she has been both a student and a tutor. She began her journey was a student studying Level 2 and 3 in 2006, progressing onto BEd (Hons) Early Childhood Studies and later achieving her PGCE leading her to become a part-time lecturer in the Community Studies Department.

In her role as the Higher Education Student Ambassdor Coordinator, Lindy trains Student Ambassadors to work in schools and at outside events to give honest, impartial information about courses at the Univeristy Centre. You will often see her at our open events or out at schools and she is always happy to show potential students around the University Centre.

Louise Clarke

University Centre Careers & Employability Lead

In her role, Louise helps Higher Education and Access students across the Truro and Penwith campus, providing advice and guidance around careers, progression, and employability. You will often find her in the dedicated careers office in Fal library or on the end of a team’s call helping students with applications, CV’s and interview preparation.

Louise has worked for Truro College since 2012 and in 2022 achieved her level 6 in Careers Guidance and Development.

Sam Boston

Programme Lead – FdSc Health and Wellbeing

Sam is the programme lead for the new Health and Wellbeing Foundation Degree at our Penwith College campus and also a University Centre Alumni!

Her own journey started on an Access course at Penwith College, Sam then progressed on to her degree with the University Centre and later completed her PGCE.
