Truro and Penwith College are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Civil Engineering and Design, Surveying & Planning Lecturer to join our team on a full-time contract basis. The successful candidate will primarily deliver the L3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship program and may also contribute to the T Level course in Design, Surveying, and Planning.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of aspiring civil engineers through innovative teaching and hands-on learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

Deliver Civil Engineering Apprenticeships: Teach and develop the Level 3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship programme.
T Level Delivery: Contribute to the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning, ensuring students gain both theoretical and practical expertise.
Deliver Bootcamps: Design and implement specialist bootcamps in digital construction and construction management, aligned with industry needs.
Expand Higher-Level Provision: Support the development of higher-level qualifications and apprenticeships in construction management, creating clear progression routes for learners.
Curriculum Innovation: Create engaging, industry-relevant lesson plans and integrate emerging technologies and practices.
Mentorship and Support: Guide and inspire students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

A Civil Engineering degree or related field is required, with a teaching qualification preferred or a willingness to obtain one. Candidates must have industry experience and strong math skills, especially in civil engineering applications. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to simplify complex concepts. A passion for teaching and mentoring is key, with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. The role requires flexibility in teaching schedules and the ability to deliver lessons both in-person and online.
