Our Nursing and Allied Health Department delivers high‑quality programmes from Level 3 to Level 6, and we’re now seeking an ambitious and innovative Head of School of Nursing and Allied Health to provide strategic leadership.

This an exciting opportunity to shape and influence healthcare education across Further Education, Higher Education and Degree Apprenticeship provision, ensuring outstanding learner outcomes and supporting regional workforce development.

Reporting to the Associate Director of the University Centre, you will lead the strategic and operational development of the School, driving excellence in curriculum design, quality assurance, learner experience and staff development. Working closely with university partners, healthcare employers and professional bodies, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), you will ensure our provision remains responsive, innovative and professionally relevant.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who can inspire teams, champion high standards and build strong partnerships across the health and education sectors.

You will have:

• A degree in a relevant academic or professional discipline.
• Significant leadership and teaching experience within Further Education or Higher Education.
• Experience of leading, managing or developing Nursing, Allied Health or other professionally regulated provision.
• A proven track record of driving quality improvement and raising academic standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience of managing budgets and resources effectively.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

A professional registration with the NMC or HCPC, and experience of Higher Education quality assurance, validation or degree apprenticeships would be advantageous.

As Head of School, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership across nursing and allied health programmes.
• Lead curriculum development from Level 3 through to undergraduate Higher Education and Apprenticeships.
• Drive outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices.
• Ensure compliance with professional, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
• Develop and support a high-performing team culture.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, university partners and healthcare providers.
• Contribute to wider College strategy as a member of the College Management Team.
